Product Review: Nestl? Abuelita Mexican Chocolate | Flavorful ...

The product discussed below was purchased by me for the purpose of review.

The word abuelita is a Spanish word roughly translated as ?granny? in English.? In reviewing Nestl?? Abuelita Mexican Chocolate, another translation for the word springs to mind:

Flavorful World kitchen staple.

The product is sold as discs of spiced Mexican chocolate to be melted into milk on stovetop.? One disc makes four cups of spiced hot chocolate.? As for first impressions, what struck me was how fragrant it is.? The aroma of dark chocolate and cinnamon greeted me the instant I unwrapped one, as if to tantalize with the promise of good things to come.

Nestl? Abuelita Mexican hot chocolate is cholesterol-free, making it a safe choice for health-conscious sippers as well as more adventurous souls.? Though it does contain sugar, the ingredient never becomes the hot chocolate?s dominant or defining attribute.? This is a welcome change from more popular instant beverage mixes to which one needs only add hot water to overload on distracting artificial sweeteners.? Abuelita?s instructions encourage one to add sugar as individual taste dictates, allowing every drinker to customize his treat?s level of sweetness.? As for me, I took mine with no added sugar and finished four cups without ever desiring any.

A cholesterol-free product that can taste as great as this does is a rare find.? Discovering one that accomplishes this without heaping in the sugar is nigh impossible, however?Nestl? pulls it off with this product.? An unexpected and attractive bonus? is that in addition to making an above-average hot chocolate utilizing whole or skim milk, this product may be used to create a delicious chocolate-orange fondue for which an easy recipe is offered on its packaging.? The possibilities hardly end there.? A creative heart and a daring palate will likely find many more usages for it.? This is why I doubt I?m alone when I say that having experienced this healthy, easily-prepared beverage, I want Nestl??s Abuelita to be my abuelita as well.
